HALLOWEEN PERFORMANCE AND REHEARSALS!
It is getting close(ish) to spooky season and that means it is time to start thinking about and planning for our group and solo performances!
Our rehearsals will start Sunday, September 7th, and run consecutively until our show, which will be the weekend of Saturday, November 1st. We ask that all participants completely block off that weekend in order to be available for performances, and any tech or dress rehearsals needed!
Costuming needs and fees are piece dependent, and will be specifically communicated to your group once you sign up. You can usually count on the costume fee being $50- $60 or less.
SOLOS: We will host auditions for anyone looking to perform a self choreographed solo or duo. Auditions will be Sunday, September 14th, and are $10. This will include a group warm up, and an opportunity for each potential soloist to show their piece. We are not looking for a complete and perfect routine at this time, just a solid concept for your routine, music, and at least 50% of your routine complete. As we get closer to this date, we will release sign ups!
We have 6 fabulous group pieces to choose from this year, all different apparatus and ability levels:)
BATS- All Ages Beginning/ Int. Lyra- Sundays at 2pm
Dystopian Dolls All Ages Advanced Lyra (must be comfortable on all areas of hoop, dynamic and static skills) - Sundays at 3pm
Witches- All Ages Advanced Silks (Continuing 2 or higher)- Sundays at 4pm
Zombies- All ages Beginning/ Int. Silks- Sundays at 5pm
Scarecrows- All ages Int/ Advanced Hammock- Sundays at 6pm
You are welcome to sign up for any of the pieces you know you are qualified for, and if you are unsure, feel free to reach out to either Maebelle or myself, and we will be happy to let you know which piece would be a better fit for you! We can’t wait to start up rehearsals again with you all so soon!
Other performance and competition opportunities:
Mark your calendars for 2 other (potential) performance opportunities:
October 4th- Community Night (Aerial Solos)- More info to come as we get a little closer!
November 7-9: Dakota Aerial Championship- A handful of folks are planning on heading out to compete- if you’d like to join, we’d love to have you. Here’s a link to their website for more info: Dakota Aerial Championship. We will have a few open practice opportunities for those creating solos, as well as private lessons available for those that would like help creating a piece. As we get closer and have a better idea of who is planning on attending, I’m happy to help organize any carpooling logistics needed for everyone to be able to get there, bond as a team!
Much love,
DeAnna and Maebelle
